Schools Out for Summer!
It looks as though I might be going back full-time next year. I really won't have a definite answer until the end of the month. It's definitely bitter-sweet. I love teaching and feel great at work. It's just sooooo hard dropping the kids off in the mornings and seeing their little lips stick out or Reagan cling to my shirt. It's heart-breaking. I know they are in good hands, but well, you know. Nothing easy about it.
We have a list of places and things to do this summer with the kids. Nothing definite, just some ideas like Legoland, the Reagan Library (need to take Reagan to her roots), parks, beach (but my babes are super white so maybe just a few), soak city, the river (with my parents), the zoo, and we hope to get to Disneyland one last time to get Luke on the new Toy Story ride. We may have to limit some of these due to gas headed for the $5 mark (These gas prices are killin me- Brad always says that I like to get in my car and go!- I can't be doing that anymore. I have to think twice about my trips to Target!) We hope to have lots of friends over this summer for get- togethers. So all-you-all out there that read my blog and it's been a while since we've caught up, my phone call is a-comin!
A few summer "to do's" are to get Reagan off the bottle and get rid of that pacifier. The paci will be the hardest for her. She loves that thing. I have aspirations of painting my bedroom, but it's a big job and don't know if I'm up for it.
I'm really looking forward to our summer Dairy Queen trips. We like to sit in the back of the van and eat our ice cream. Luke thinks it's big fun. This past week, I introduced Luke to water balloons. He goes crazy over them and has asked for more every night since. He's hillarious because he will carry his balloon all over the yard laughing sooo hard while I chase him with my balloon. Luke just started a couple classes at "The Little Gym." He's taking a sports class (Funny Bugs) and a gymnastics class (Mini Jacks). He had his first one tonight and really loves it. He told everyone at my work today that he was going to the gym to exercise. When we got home, he told Brad that he was bery sweaty and needed a shower (yes, he says bery). The classes work on motor development skills and coordination.
Lastly, props to my hubby! He ran his first marathon on sat. (he says it's called a half-marathon. I say, "Whatever! He ran forever! Anything over a couple miles in my book is a marathon." He did so great and of course is in amazing shape!
